The Insidious Evils of 'Like' Culture

An interesting commentary on how we have become a culture of conformity- how we now feel compelled to "like" or "retweet" to increase online view counts. But hey, dosen't it feel good to be 'liked'?

  1. This brings about the issue that exists with reddit and that is people only end up posting things they know the "hivemind" is going to like. Posts that do not conform the the hivemind's sensibilities end up getting down voted and are never seen by the vast majority of users. Basically the culture of liking and disliking posts brings about a voluntary censorship, where users don't make posts for the fear of them not being liked.
